March 4, 2021 – World Obesity Day.
In the framework of this day our students became part of an activity where initially the school psychologist talked about the causes that can lead to obesity. Often unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle are the main reasons leading to poor health and constant weight gain.
Under the supervision of the physical education teacher the students underwent some body measurements to calculate their BMI (Body Mass Index). Based on the result to each student was shown a dedicated exercise program to have a healthy body.
The objectives of this activity were:
- Raise awareness of the importance of healthy eating.
- Raise awareness of the dangers of being overweight.
- Encourage young people to do daily physical activity.
